Le Carriére
Le Carriére is a modern holiday Gite, boasting charm and character. It is set on the edge of an old quarry and so is very private and peaceful. Because of its southerly position the sun is constantly on the house, providing various changes in the colours and contrasts of the surrounding countryside throughout the day and the evenings.
The quiet, friendly village of Sains is ideally situated for Le Mont St Michel, St.Malo, Dinan, Dinard and Combourg, along with a whole host of activities and attractions. A fabulous area for whiling away the warm summer days.The village also boasts a bar and restaurant with outdoor seating in the warmer months. The bar is located in the very heart of the village right opposite the chuch and only a minute or twos walk form the house.
Downstairs
The downstairs of the Gite is open plan which creates light and space and the 2 double patio doors, one to the rear of the cottage and one to the south facing front, give the feeling of being closer to the beautiful countryside and nature. The floor is tiled throughout and the fully fitted kitchen includes a full sized fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, full sized oven and hob and a microwave. The kitchen has two large windows and a door leading to the large terraced area and the garden.Very easy access to the BBQ area means no long walks with plates of delicious food to the outside dining area.The indoor dining area has a table large enough for six or more and a dresser for easy access to wine glasses (very important!) plates, mugs etc.
The large, light and airy lounge area has patio doors at both ends of the room. Both patio doors open up onto terraced sitting areas and lawns. The lounge, whilst equiped with electric radiators also has an efficient wood burning chimney.The lounge also has satellite tv, a video/dvd player and a selection of films, books and games for your enjoyment.
First Floor
The first floor of the Gite has a central landing which leads to two large double rooms and a third slightly smaller twin bedroom. All are carpeted and have electric radiators. The two largest rooms have stunning views to the south, whilst the smaller twin room overlooks the garden, the apple orchard and has a view of the church spire. Each room is freshly decorated, light and airy and comes with fresh, pretty bedlinen. The bathroom is a large family space, clean and light with a separate multi-massage shower unit, a baignoire (bath tub), a WC and washbasin.
The Terrace
The Gite has two terrace areas and lawned areas surround the house on each side.The terrace to the back has its own permanent BBQ and has plenty of garden furniture for you to relax and eat or to sunbathe on.The smaller area to the front is perfect for sitting in the warm sun and watching the world go by.The garage area is perfect for housing the bikes or any other sports equipment and extra garden furniture that you may have with you, a perfect storage facility and safe.
The driveway is large and has lawned, planted areas that will add to this picturesque spot in the summer, when the flowers line the flow of the drive, right up to your front door.
Exploring Brittany
The Gite in Sains is the doorway to Brittany and Normandy and the superb bay of Le Mont St Michel. Whilst you make the most of the quiet, beautiful surroundings and the well equipped modern style cottage, you can rest assured that within half an hour in any direction you will find more stunning views, more picturesque villages, all necessary amenities including supermarkets, bakers for the fresh French bread we all love, local butchers for the French sausages we all love to BBQ and much , much more. This holiday home is within very easy distance of the fabulous beach/port towns of St Malo, Dinard and Cancale where you can fish and dive and find as many water sports as you dare try. The Gite is also very close to the superb market/medieval towns of Combourg, Dol-de-Bretagne and Dinan and all these fabulous towns have a market.
* PRICES * * October – April * : £250 / 300 euros. * May – Mid June * : £300 / 360 euros. * Mid June – 3rd July * : £350 / 420 euros. * 4th July – August * : £500 / 600 euros. * September * : £350 / 420 euros.*Prices are per Gite, not per person and include bedlinen (pillowcases, duvet covers, sheets and mattress covers). Towels (hand and bath and flannels) are available to hire at £3. Prices also include 40 units of electricity, after that we charge 0.15 per extra unit. Gas for the oven and hob is included in the price, so is water and holiday taxes . Wood for the wood burning chimney is available at £10/12 per wheelbarrow. Cots with mattress and linen ( duvets, duvet covers , pillo and pillow cases ), highchairs, baby baths, potties and toilet reducers and child safety gates are available, free of charge on request. Note: exchange rate of £1 to £2 will be applied.
